Dr Jerry Schwartz and Dary Milani, co-founders of Hunter Education Group, were invited to speak at No Vacancy 2026, the hotel and accommodation industry expo held in Sydney in September. ## Where the hotel industry is heading

In an interview with Su Lin Tan of industry publication Green Street News, Dr Schwartz gave his assessment of the hotel sector to date and highlighted the key challenges and opportunities facing the industry.

Rethinking how hospitality fills 40,000+ vacancies

Dary Milani joined Nicole Downs, Managing Director of Ovolo Hotels Australia, to discuss how the industry needs to rethink its approach to filling its vacancies. According to the Australian Hotels Association, there are currently more than 40,000 job vacancies in hotels, pubs, restaurants and bars across Australia.

Hunter Education Group’s model of training inside a working hotel gives hotels direct access to the trained graduates they need – and gives students real workplace experience from day one.
