PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Diploma of Information Technology (ICT50220) is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge to pursue a career in various IT roles such as software developer, systems analyst, and IT project manager. The course includes both theoretical and practical components, covering topics such as programming, database design, system analysis, and project management.

Through this course, students will learn the latest programming languages, software development methodologies and tools, and system development life cycle. They will also learn how to design, develop and implement website builds and how to manage IT projects. Upon successful completion of the course, graduates will have the necessary skills and knowledge to work in a variety of IT roles or pursue further education in the field.

This program is delivered over 52 weeks, which is made up of four academic terms of 900 contact hours.

Who is this course for?

This course is for leaners who wish to learn specialised technical skills in front -end web development. It is suitable for both IT enthusiasts and those who may have little or no experience in the IT field but wish to acquire these skills.

Study schedule / delivery mode

The program will be delivered over a period of fifty-two (52) weeks (inclusive of holidays) in a blended training environment through a structured learning program comprising of lectures, presentations, case studies, projects, mentoring and group discussion forums. This course will be scheduled over four academic terms of ten (10) contact weeks each. A term timetable will include delivery schedule of units totaling twenty (20) contact hours each week, inclusive of mentoring.

Entry Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • All applicants must have completed Year 11 (or equivalent).
  • All students must meet Language Literacy and Numeracy requirements if applicable International applicants must have an IELTS 5.5 or equivalent with a minimum of 5.0 in each band.

Important Information

Facilities and Resources

Fully equipped facilities, with the resources to successfully undertake this program including computer rooms, software, free WIFI, photocopiers and student lounge. It is a requirement that you bring your own laptop (device) to enhance your learning experience.

Course Resources

Access to the Learning Management System (LMS) which includes class assessments, student workbooks, and extra resources will be provided to students upon enrolment. Students can access test and assessment results and message other students or trainers on the LMS.

Assessments

Competency in units studied in this qualification will be assessed with various methods, including written assessments, knowledge assessments, oral exams, projects, case studies, presentations, and direct observation of role plays and simulations.

Qualification

Upon successful completion of all units, you will be awarded an AQF5 Diploma of Information Technology (ICT50220) from Hunter Education Group. If you do not complete the full qualification, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the units for which you have achieved competency.
