RPL
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
Hunter Education Group offers Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to acknowledge students’ previous study or relevant work experience. This process allows students to gain credit for subjects without completing the full training, where they can demonstrate competence against the course requirements.
How RPL Works
- You apply for RPL before or at the beginning of your course.
- You must provide sufficient evidence (e.g. transcripts, resumes, references, work samples) to demonstrate prior competence.
- Our assessors will evaluate your evidence and confirm whether you meet the learning outcomes.

RPL Pricing Structure
RPL fees are based on the typical duration of each subject. Subjects are grouped into three tiers:
Subject Tier | Typical Duration | RPL Deduction |
---|---|---|
Tier 1 - Short | 1 week or less (2–3 days) | $150 |
Tier 2 - Standard | 2 weeks (4–6 days) | $250 |
Tier 3 - Extended | 3 to 4 weeks (9–12 days) | $400 |
One-time RPL Administration Fee: $300 (applies to all RPL applications, regardless of the number of units).
Important Notes
- RPL is cost-effective when you apply for multiple subjects.
- If you apply for RPL on a single Short unit, the deduction may not exceed the admin fee.
- RPL does not reduce the total course duration unless all required subjects are credited.
- You can only receive RPL for up to 50% of the total course, ensuring you still experience structured learning with us.
Next Steps
- Speak with a course advisor to check your eligibility.
- Submit your RPL Application Form (located on the learner portal or download here) and supporting documents.
- Receive an RPL outcome and adjusted course quote (if approved).
